Garage to Home Gym Conversions
A gym asks more of a garage than most rooms: a floor that takes dropped weights, fresh air when you are working hard, and sockets that can run a treadmill.
Some people want the garage door kept for airflow and the look. If so, an insulated sectional door can give you both, and it may keep the work out of Building Regulations altogether, which we can talk through on the survey.

What's included
- Reinforced, insulated floor for racks and dropped weights
- Rubber flooring and mirror walls
- Ventilation or air conditioning
- Dedicated circuits for treadmills and bikes
Every quote is itemised, so you can see the cost of each part. See the cost guide for typical prices.
Worth knowing
- Ceiling height
- Raising the floor for insulation costs height. If you need room for overhead presses or pull-ups, we look at insulating differently to keep it.
Home gym: questions
Do I need Building Regulations for a garage gym?
If the garage becomes a heated, habitable room, yes. If it stays an unheated space with the door in place, often not. We will tell you which on the survey.
